New Delhi: Date of one UGC NET exam to be held on January 15, 2025 has been changed. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a notice regarding the postponement of the UGC NET exam. The National Testing Agency has given the latest update on the UGC NET official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
It has been told that the UGC NET exam to be held on January 15, 2025 will now be held on a new date. This exam is being conducted for the December 2024 cycle. Exams are being conducted from January 3, 2025, which are to be conducted till January 16.
Exam postponed due to festivals
The National Testing Agency wrote that many suggestions have been received by the NTA, in which there has been a demand to postpone the UGC NET exam of January 15, 2025 in view of Pongal, Makar Sankranti and other festivals.
16 Jan exam to be held as per schedule
Keeping in mind the interest of the students, the agency has decided to postpone the UGC NET December 2025 exam scheduled on 15 January 2025. However, the examination of 16 January 2025 will be held as per the earlier schedule.
New date will be annouced later
It is obvious that the NET exam of 15 January will now be taken on some other date. NTA has not given any information about when this will be held. It has just been told that the new date of UGC NET exam will be announced later. It will be announced on the official website itself. For this, UGC NET Admit Card will also be issued separately.
The National Eligibility Test (National Eligibility Test – NET) of the University Grants Commission is conducted for Master's Degree / Post Graduate Students. Through this, the candidates get eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor's job and admission in PhD. At present, UGC NET exam is conducted in Computer Based Test i.e. CBT mode for a total of 85 subjects.
