Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 Results: Former Chief Minister of Delhi and National Convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Arvind Kejriwal, has acknowledged his party's defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections of 2025.
In a video message, Kejriwal stated, "We accept the decision of the people. We accept our defeat with all humility. I congratulate the BJP and hope that they will fulfill the expectations with which the people have elected them."
He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve. He highlighting the efforts made by the party over the past decade to improve education, health, water, and infrastructure. Kejriwal assured supporters that AAP will continue to work for the people and take on the role of a constructive opposition.
He also praised AAP workers for their dedication during the elections, stating, "You people fought the elections in a great way despite facing many difficulties. You worked very hard."
As per the latest trends, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured a majority, leading on 48 seats, while the Aam Aadmi Party is ahead on only 22 seats.
Several prominent AAP leaders are trailing or have lost in their respective constituencies. Notably, Kejriwal himself is trailing by nearly 4,000 votes in New Delhi, where BJP's Pravesh Verma is poised for victory.
Additionally, AAP candidates Manish Sisodia from Jangpura and Awadh Ojha from Patparganj have both accepted their defeats.
