Why fans are demanding re-release of 'Dunki', why film starring Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu is in discussion again?

Rajkumar Hirani is a filmmaker who not only entertains through his stories, but also presents important issues related to the society in a very interesting way. His film 'Dunki' starring Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Boman Irani and Vikram Kochar, which came in 2023, was also one such attempt, in which he presented the issue of illegal immigration with humor, emotion and drama.

The film showed how some Indians try to fulfill their overseas dreams through the 'Dunki Route' and how this journey proves to be full of difficulties for them. Now, when the news of large-scale deportation in real life is in the news, netizens believe that 'Dunki' should be re-released in theaters again. People are saying on social media that the message of the film has become more important than ever in today's time.

In the last few weeks, the US has accelerated the deportation process of Indian nationals who had entered the US illegally, especially through dangerous backdoor routes. Many of those deported have shared their heartbreaking stories of passing through dangerous areas, getting caught in the trap of human traffickers and then getting arrested and deported. These real struggles are similar to the story of 'Dunki', where the issue of illegal immigration was shown in a very emotional and realistic way.

Right time to re-release 'Dunki', say users

Many X (formerly Twitter) users believe that this is the right time to re-release 'Dunki' in theatres. The film shows the pain of immigrants who go through dangerous paths in the dream of a better life and then face many difficulties. One user wrote that Dunki should be released again. This is the right time, and I am sure it will surpass the earnings of its first release. The timing could not have been better.

Another wrote that SRK and Raju Hirani should re-release 'Dunki' right now, as the news of illegal immigration is currently in the news. People are facing not only handcuffs but even worse conditions. At least India is taking back its people, but China used to refuse outright. However, this time it has said yes.
