PM Modi Gujarat visit: Will chair National Board of Wildlife meeting in Gir forests, know what will be special?


Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Jamnagar on Saturday evening on a three-day visit to Gujarat. After overnight stay at the Circuit House here, on Sunday he visited Reliance Foundation's animal rescue and rehabilitation center Vantara. 


During his visit, the Prime Minister will also visit Sasan Gir National Park in Gir district and enjoy jungle safari. On Monday, he will offer prayers at the Somnath Mahadev temple. Regarding the PM Modir's visit, Gujarat Minister Mulubhai Bera said that all preparations have been made. The Prime Minister will participate in various programs in Jamnagar, Dwarka and Gir district during his three-day visit.


PM Modi reached Jamnagar on the evening of March 1. Here he stayed overnight at the Circuit House. On Sunday he is scheduled to visit the Vantara Animal Care Center in Jamnagar. He will leave from Jamnagar and reach Sasan in the evening. After reaching the Forest Department's office-cum-guest house 'Singh Sadan' in Sasan, the PM Modi will chair the meeting of Shri Somnath Trust.


Jungle safari and NBWL meeting in Gir


On March 3, the Prime Minister will start his day by enjoying a jungle safari in Gir National Park. After returning from here to Singh Sadan, he will chair the meeting of National Board of Wildlife (NBWL). It is worth noting that national level issues related to wildlife will be discussed in this meeting, as well as the issues will be finalized. This meeting is special, as it will be chaired by the Prime Minister.


The NBWL meeting will be attended by Union Forest and Environment Minister Bhupendra Yadav, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Ministers of the states and wildlife experts associated with the board will participate in the meeting. 


This meeting of the board is proposed to be held every year, but this time it is going to be held after a long time.


Will offer worship at Somnath temple


After the NBWL meeting, the Prime Minister will interact with some women forest employees in Sasan. Later the Prime Minister will worship at the Somnath temple in Gir Somnath district. Later from Somnath he will reach Rajkot airport and leave for Delhi.


There are 47 members in NBWL, including the Chief of Army Staff, members of various states, representatives of NGOs working in this field, Chief Wildlife Wardens and Secretaries of various states. The Prime Minister of the country is the ex-officio chairman of NBWL.
