Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has removed her nephew, Akash Anand, from all responsibilities within the party, leading to a significant political upheaval in the BSP. She has held Akash's father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, entirely responsible for this decision. Furthermore, Mayawati has made it clear that she will not appoint anyone as her successor for the remainder of her life.
Mayawati issued an official press release and announced that now Akash Anand will not hold any post in BSP. This decision was taken because recently Akash's father-in-law Ashok Siddharth was expelled from the party. According to Mayawati, Ashok Siddharth was having an influence on her daughter and then on Akash Anand, which was causing damage to the party.
Mayawati said in her statement, "Akash Anand is married to Ashok Siddharth's daughter. In such a situation, we have to see how much influence his father-in-law has on him and how much influence his wife has on Akash. So far the situation does not look good. Akash has been relieved of all responsibilities in the interest of the party.”
She clearly said that Ashok Siddhartha, and not BSP, is solely responsible for this situation, who has harmed the party and also ruined the political career of Akash Anand.
Akash Anand, who was once considered the future successor of BSP, was earlier stripped of his successor status by Mayawati for making a controversial statement during the Lok Sabha elections 2024. However, he was later given the responsibility again, but this time Mayawati took the final decision and sidelined him completely.
Meanwhile, Mayawati has made her younger brother Anand Kumar the national coordinator to strengthen the party organization. Also, Ramji Gautam has also been appointed as the national coordinator of BSP.
This tough decision of Mayawati has also caused a stir in BSP, the future of Akash Anand is in limbo, whether a return will be possible and what kind of impact will it have on the party.
