Nitrogen gas leaks from tanker parked in factory in Rajasthan's Beawar, three die


Jaipur: A major accident occurred on Tuesday due to gas leak in Beawar district of Rajasthan. Three people have lost their lives due to gas leak from a tanker parked in a chemical factory here. Three people suffocated due to gas leakage. Many other people were also affected in the incident and have been taken to the hospital. They are being treated. An investigation will be conducted on how the gas leaked from the tanker.


According to Superintendent of Police Shyam Singh, several people in the vicinity fell sick and were admitted to different hospitals after inhaling the gas.


He said factory owner Sunil Singhal (47) died on Monday night, while local residents Dayaram (52) and Narendra Solanki (40) died on Tuesday.


Another official also said people in the area were admitted to a local hospital after they complained of breathing problems, heaviness in chest and vomiting. The condition of two people is critical and they are being treated at JLN Hospital in Ajmer.


Factory evacuated


The officer said that the area around the factory has been evacuated. This factory was running in a residential area. The District Collector has directed to form a committee of officials of Municipal Council, Revenue Department and Police to survey the factories running without permission. Two other people killed in the incident are said to be laborers, whose families have been informed. Postmortem of the bodies is being done.
