Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: Tour guide Nazakat is like an angel to us: BJP worker recounts what happened on that fateful day

Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: It is said that terrorism has no religion. In the Pahalgam terrorist attack, tour guide Nazakat Ahmed Shah proved this to be true by saving the family of a BJP worker.

When terrorists from across the border attacked tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, Arvind Agarwal, a worker of the Chhattisgarh BJP Youth Wing, was present at the scene with his family. Arvind credited Nazakat with saving his family from the terrorists. However, during this attack, Nazakat lost his cousin, who used to take tourists on horseback.

Nazakat lost his cousin in the attack

One of the two Kashmiri persons who died in the terrorist attack was also Nazakat Ahmed Shah's cousin. Arvind Agarwal, while recounting the incident of the Pahalgam attack, said that when the attack occurred, he was evacuated safely, but his wife Pooja and their four-year-old daughter were at some distance.

Took children to a safe location

Agarwal, a resident of Chirmiri town in Chhattisgarh, told that everything was fine, and everyone was enjoying the pleasant weather. Suddenly, gunfire erupted. His four-year-old daughter and wife were a little distance away from him. His guide, Nazakat, was with a couple and their child.

Agarwal recounted that when the shooting started, Nazakat instructed everyone to lie down and saved the lives of his daughter and his friend's son by hugging them. After that, he took them to a safe location. He then went to save Agarwal's wife. He mentioned that for an hour, he did not know whether his family was safe or not. Later, he saw his wife and daughter at the hospital.

Took the children out through the hole in the fence: Nazakat

Recalling the incident of the gunfire, Nazakat said that the attack occurred near the zipline, with bullets fired from about 20 meters away. Nazakat said, "First, I asked everyone to lie down. After that, I took the children out through the hole in the fence." He explained that when he returned after securing the children, Agarwal's wife was about one and a half kilometers away. He brought her back and took everyone to Srinagar by car.

After the incident, Arvind Agarwal remarked that tour guide Nazakat is like an angel to them. "If Nazakat had not been there, I don't know what would have happened." During this attack, Arvind's wife's clothes were torn, and local people also provided her with clothing.
