Chardham Yatra: Doors of Badrinath Dham open with rituals, devotees gather for darshan, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami offers worship


The doors of Badrinath Dham in Uttarakhand have been opened on Tuesday morning. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was also present in the temple premises on the occasion.


On Sunday morning, the Char Dham Yatra has started in full swing with the opening of the doors of Lord Shri Hari's Dham Badrinath Dham. The doors of Badrinath Dham were opened at six in the morning. Rawal of the temple, the main priest, opened the doors of the temple after worshiping in the Vedic manner. During this time the women sang traditional folk songs and the band of Garhwal Rifles filled the campus with melodious sounds.


More than 10 thousand devotees were present in the temple premises on Sunday morning.  Devotees will be able to have darshan of Lord Badri Vishal for the next six months. On May 3, Lord Badri Vishal's palanquin, Adi Guru Shankaracharya's throne, Kubera and Uddhav's Utsav Doli reached Dham.


After the opening of Dham's doors, Chief Minister Dhami interacted with media about the help given by the central government to Joshimath.


He said, "I thank the respected Prime Minister and the Home Minister. In February 2023, about 20 percent of our Jyotirmath (Joshimath) was hit by disaster, causing cracks in the area."


Chief Minister Dhami said that 'agencies of the Government of India, state government agencies and other agencies submitted the report after a survey. According to which Navnirman is required in Jyotirmath. On the basis of which he was requested to the Government of India to provide them funds under the Disaster Assistance Fund.


Chief Minister Dhami said, "We have been given an amount of Rs 1700 crore. With that amount, we will work here to stop sewerage, Navnirman, security and waterlogging."
