A devastating fire at the Naaz Hotel in Diggi Bazaar, Ajmer, resulted in the tragic loss of four lives, including a child, while several others suffered burns. The fire broke out around 8 AM and quickly spread to the fifth floor, where many pilgrims were staying. In a desperate attempt to escape, guests were forced to jump from windows.
A child were burnt alive in the fire. Another child also got caught in the fast spreading fire. The mother picked him up and threw him down from the window. He has suffered minor burns.
Dr. Anil Samaria, Principal of JLN Medical College, said that eight burn victims were brought to the facility, with four confirmed dead and three in critical condition.

Eyewitness Mangilal Kalosia said the fire that started with an explosion. He said- there was a sound of AC bursting. My wife and I ran out. After this, we called the taxi driver. The fire brigade came after half an hour. We broke the glass from outside. A woman threw her child in my lap from above. She also started jumping, but we stopped her. Another youth also jumped from the window. He has got head injuries.
The narrow access road to the hotel hampered rescue efforts, affecting the health of several police personnel and firefighters on the scene. Additional Superintendent of Police Himanshu Jangid and other officials were present to oversee the situation. Investigations are ongoing. reliminary reports indicate that a short circuit may have caused the fire.
