What did Mahendra Singh Dhoni say on being inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame

Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni was inducted into the Hall of Fame by the International Cricket Council (ICC) during a ceremony in London on Monday.

On being inducted into the Hall of Fame, cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni said, "It is a great honour for me to be inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame, which recognises the contribution of cricketers from different eras across the world."

"It is indeed a great experience to see my name along with such great players. This is a moment that I will always cherish."

Dhoni played his first innings for the Indian cricket team in the year 2004. He has played 350 ODIs, 98 T20s and 90 Test matches in his cricket career.

Under his captaincy, the Indian cricket team won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007, the ICC World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy in 2013.

He is also the only captain to have won all three ICC white-ball trophies, after skippering India to the inaugural 2007 T20 World Cup title as well as the 2013 Champions Trophy.

Dhoni finished his ODI career with an average above 50, having played 350 matches and scored over 10,000 runs -- often expertly helming a run-chase.

On Monday, the ICC announced the inclusion of seven players from the cricket world in the Hall of Fame, which includes five male and two female players.
