World Environment Day-2025: Today is World Environment Day. The whole world is united for environmental protection. We not taking measured to control pollution. We are using electric vehicles instead of diesel, planting trees but is this enough.
The biggest threat today is plastic pollution. Yes, plastic pollution is not only endangering the entire environment but is also contaminating our drinking water and food items and is also causing serious diseases by entering our body. Let us all take a pledge today and say 'no' to plastic pollution.
Theme of WED 2025: End of Plastic Pollution
That is why the theme of World Environment Day 2025 has been kept as 'End of Plastic Pollution' this time. The Republic of Korea is hosting the global program this time. Plastic pollution means the accumulation of plastic in the environment which is having a devastating impact on wildlife, marine life and human health. It includes many types of plastic waste like plastic bags, bottles and microplastics which are not easily destroyed.
How plastic harms us
Whatever plastic bags, bottles or polythene we are using today, they are harming the environment as well as us
We generally throw plastic in the garbage after using it. Many times cows or other animals eat this plastic along with food. They get many fatal diseases. Many times they even die.
Often after buying any item in plastic, we throw it anywhere. It goes into a river and many times aquatic animals get trapped in it and die.
Today is the era of plastic packing. From fruits to all food items, we bring them home in plastic packets and eat them with great pleasure, but this is very dangerous. This is because small particles of plastic get transferred to our food, which after going inside the body gradually give rise to serious diseases.
Production of plastic is increasing
Plastic pollution is a big threat to the society and it is increasing continuously. The reason for this is the excessive use of plastic in our lives. We bring every item in plastic. From fruits, flowers and other items to food, everything is coming in plastic packing. Secondly, plastic is not being disposed of properly. Thirdly, we are continuously increasing the production of plastic. If the production of plastic increases, pollution will also increase.
