Himachal Pradesh: Cloudburst in Chamba and Mandi, 5 bridges washed away


There has been a cloudburst in Chamba and Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh. Due to this, 5 bridges have been washed away in the state. The bridge built on Kanghela drain in Chamba was washed away. At the same time, one vehicle-traffic and three pedestrian bridges were washed away in Chauhar Valley of Mandi district.

According to the local people, the fertile land, standing crops and gardens of the villagers living on the banks of the drain have also been submerged in water and debris.

Fortunately there was no loss of life in this accident, but there is a serious threat to the village. Panchayat Pradhan Prem Singh Thakur and BDC member Kamla Thakur said that the fast flow and erosion of the drain is continuously damaging the land and houses of the village.

Destruction in Chanju of Chamba too, iron bridge damaged

Meanwhile, cloudburst has also occurred in Chanju of Churah assembly constituency of Chamba district. The iron bridge has been damaged due to heavy flood in Chanju Naal near Bhageigadh. It is a matter of relief that there has been no loss of life here either.

The departmental team has reached the spot and the work of restoring the road is going on. The administration has appealed to the local people to be cautious and not to go near the banks of the Naal.

75 people have died so far

Monsoon entered Himachal Pradesh on 20 June. Since then till 4 July, 75 people have died in flood-landslide incidents. 288 people are injured. Mandi district has suffered the highest number of 14 deaths in cloudburst incidents. 31 people are still missing here. There is a red alert for heavy rain in the state even today.

Heavy rains lash Jharkhand, MP, Bihar

Heavy rain occurred in Jharkhand on Saturday. An illegal coal mine collapsed in Mahua Tangri of Ramgarh district in the morning. 4 people died and 4 were injured in this. There is an orange alert for heavy rain in the state till Monday morning.

There is a flood situation in Madhya Pradesh due to the strong rain system becoming active. Due to heavy rain, the Narmada river is in spate in Mandla district. Here, the bridge on the National Highway connecting Narsinghpur to Hoshangabad collapsed.

There is a yellow alert for rain in 18 districts of Bihar today. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in these districts. Strong winds can also blow. It rained in Araria, Munger on Saturday. Two women died due to lightning in Sasaram. While one woman got burnt.
