There was a shooting at comedian Kapil Sharma's cafe in Canada on Wednesday night. The cafe had been inaugurated just three days ago in Surrey, British Columbia on July 7.
The cafe's name is 'Kap's Cafe'. Kapil Sharma's wife Ginni Chatrath is also associated with it. After the incident, police and forensic teams arrived at the spot and are investigating.
According to media reports, the attackers fired 9 rounds at the cafe. However, there is no news of anyone getting hurt yet.
The attacker also made a video of the incident, which is rapidly going viral on social media. A person sitting in a car outside the cafe is seen firing continuously from inside the car in the video.
According to some media reports, Khalistani separatist Harjeet Singh Laddi has claimed responsibility for the attack. Laddi is among the most wanted terrorists on the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) list and is associated with terrorist organisation Babbar Khalsa International. It is being reported that Harjeet Singh Laddi opened fire at Kapil Sharma's cafe over conedian's alleged comments against Nihang Sikhs during a comedy show.
On social media, Laddi and another person named Toofan Singh warned Kapil Sharma through a video to apologize publicly and said that if he did not apologize, the matter could get worse.
However, some sources speculate that it could be related to an old Netflix episode or a live show. Earlier this year, Nihang leader Baba Balbir Singh had also objected to Kapil Sharma's content.
