Daylight Robbery at Gurugram Bank: Armed Miscreants Loot Crores
Bank Loot in Gurugram: A robbery occurred in broad daylight in Gurugram, near the capital city of Delhi, on Saturday evening. Armed criminals looted valuables worth crores of rupees at gunpoint from the Manappuram Gold Loan branch, which included Rs 9.5 lakh in cash along with gold worth crores. While escaping, the miscreants assaulted bank employees and security guards.
The incident sparked a commotion in Gurugram, which was bustling with activity at the time. Following the report, police from the Sector-5 station arrived promptly and launched a city-wide search to apprehend the suspects.
Robbers entered the premises disguised as auditors
According to bank employees, the robbers entered the premises disguised as auditors. They claimed to be conducting an audit and showed identification cards to gain the staff's trust. After being offered tea, three of the assailants exited the bank under the pretense of smoking a cigarette, only to return with two additional accomplices. They then proceeded to the locker room of the assistant manager and other employees.
Robbers brandished their firearms
As soon as they entered the locker room, the robbers brandished their firearms and began the heist. Three of the criminals were inside the bank looting, while two others stood guard outside. The robbers fled with bags filled with about 150 packets of gold and around Rs 9.5 lakh in cash. When a security guard attempted to intervene, the criminals overpowered him and attacked him and other employees to instill fear. The robbers then fled the scene.
