Opposition's 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' will start from this place in Bihar from Aug 17; what Pawan Khera said?
Congress will start 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar from 17th August along with other parties of India Alliance. This yatra (journey) will last for 16 days.
Giving information about this yatra, Congress leader Pawan Khera said, "Our Voter Adhikar (Rights) Yatra is going to start from Sasaram in Bihar on the 17th. It is possible to breathe freely in independent India because it is possible to vote."
He accused BJP of "fraudulently adding and removing votes".
Pawan Khera said, "If SIR (Special Intensive Revision) had not been initiated in Bihar, then perhaps so much would not have come to light, as much is now being revealed. The situation has become such that even the Supreme Court had to intervene."
He further remarked, "The conspiracy was not just to snatch votes. It was a conspiracy to rob us and you of our identity... Dalits, the deprived, the exploited, the oppressed, minorities, daily wage laborers... all of their identities are at stake... Today, BJP will take away their right to vote. Tomorrow, they will strip them of their participation in government schemes."
Rahul Gandhi shares spoof video
Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had shared a spoof video in which he reiterated the allegations of 'vote theft' against the Election Commission. In the video, a man is seen filing a theft complaint at a police station and saying that his "vote has been stolen". The video ends with the message, "Theft of your vote is theft of your right." Rahul Gandhi shared the video on X, writing, "Chori-chori, chupke-chupke... no more, the public is awake."
On the other hand, Tejashwi Yadav said about this yatra, "Tomorrow we will all be partners of the Mahagathbandhan. Rahul Gandhi will also be with us. We will go to many districts. Our effort is to make people aware so that no voter's name is left out."
