Indian forces shot down Pakistan's five modern fighter jets, tells IAF Chief Marshal AP Singh; how S-400 proved gamechanger
Indian Air Force Chief Marshal AP Singh addressed the outcomes of Operation Sindoor. He said Pakistan suffered major losses during the operation. Singh said that the Indian forces successfully shot down five modern fighter jets and one large aircraft belonging to Pakistan and credited the S-400 air defense system, recently acquired from Russia, as a key factor in India's success. According to Singh, the S-400 effectively prevented Pakistan from utilizing their glide bombs, which are capable of long-distance strikes, as none were able to penetrate its defenses.
AP Singh said that a Pakistani surveillance aircraft, Airborne Early Warning and Control / Electronic Intelligence, was shot down from a distance of 300 kilometers. This is the record of hitting a ground-to-air target so far.
Extensive damage to Bahawalpur base
Speaking on the loss of Pakistan's military base, the Air Chief Marshal said that everyone has seen the pictures of the attack in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. Everything was destroyed there, the pictures we saw were satellite pictures. He said that the damage cannot be estimated correctly. The damage has been much more than what is visible in the satellite pictures. Local media has shown the pictures from inside after the attack.
Govt gave free hand to Army
The Air Chief Marshal said that the reason for the success in the war was political will. He said that we were given clear instructions and free hand. He said that it was the army's decision how far we have to go. We were given free hand to make a strategy and implement it. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah have already said that the Army was given free hand. AP Singh praised the coordination of the three forces. He said that the post of CDS really makes a difference. He was present to bring them together.
It was a high-tech war
While talking about the technology of war, AP Singh said that it was a high-tech war. He said that in 80-90 hours we caused so much damage that Pakistan came to its knees. Pakistan had clearly understood that if India continued war, they would have to pay a heavy price. That is why Pakistan's DGMO came forward and sent a message for talks. He also agreed to talk with us.
