Weather Monsoon: Strong rain system active in Madhya Pradesh; alert in these districts, check updates and IMD predictions
Strong rain system is active in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday as well. Due to continuous rain in Indore, the water level of Kanh river has increased. Two people were trapped near Krishnapura bridge, who were rescued by the Municipal Corporation and police team.
In Ujjain, due to the rising water level of Kshipra, the temples on the banks of the ghats have submerged. Water has reached up to their domes. The administration has warned people to stay away from the ghats.
Platform number 4 at the railway station in Ratlam is submerged in water. Many residential areas including Janta Colony, P&T Colony, Jawahar Nagar are also flooded. Household goods have drowned. Palsoda village is completely submerged in water.
A youth jumped into the fast flowing Choral river in Kalakund near Mhow. His search is going on in the strong current of the river.
Gates of many dams opened
The gates of the following dams were opened: Omkareshwar Dam and Indira Sagar Dam in Khandwa, Bargi Dam in Jabalpur, Yashwant Sagar Dam in Indore, Madikheda Dam in Shivpuri, Dholawad Dam in Ratlam, Tawa Dam in Itarsi, Halali Dam in Raisen, and Kalabhata Dam in Mandsaur.
Alert in these districts
The India Meterological Department (IMD) has warned of very heavy or heavy rain in 26 districts on Thursday. There is an alert of very heavy rain in Jhabua, Alirajpur, Barwani, Khargone, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Harda, Dewas and Sehore during the next 24 hours. Rainfall of more than 20 CM can occur here in the next 24 hours.
