Bihar Assembly Election 2025: By-elections announced in 7 states along with Bihar elections, voting in 2 phase, counting on November 14


The Election Commission of India (ECI) made a major announcement on Monday, announcing the dates for by-elections to eight assembly seats in seven states, along with the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025. Voting for all these seats will take place on November 11, 2025, and counting will take place on November 14, 2025. These by-elections, along with the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, could determine the political direction of several states.

Bihar Election Schedule Released

Elections for the 243 seats of the Bihar Assembly will be held in two phases.

First Phase: November 6, 2025

Second Phase: November 11, 2025

Counting: November 14, 2025

With the announcement of these dates, the political activity in Bihar has intensified. All parties are now preparing to put their full strength into campaigning.

By-elections for eight seats in seven states

The seats for which the Election Commission has announced by-elections include Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Mizoram, Punjab, Odisha, and Telangana. The Budgam and Nagrota seats in Jammu and Kashmir had been vacant for a long time. Budgam fell vacant following the resignation of Omar Abdullah, while the Nagrota seat fell vacant following the death of MLA Devendra Rana.

Tough contest is expected, with the BJP and the NC facing off

The Nagrota seat will see a direct contest between the BJP and the National Conference (NC). Interesting contests are also expected in Anta in Rajasthan, Ghatshila in Jharkhand, Tarn Taran in Punjab, Nuapada in Odisha, Jayanti Hills in Telangana, and Dampa in Mizoram.
