Bihar Assembly Election-2025: What BJP said about Tejashwi Yadav's statement on Waqf Act
Regarding the Waqf Amendment Act 2025, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav has said that if his government is formed, he will not allow it to be implemented in Bihar.
At a rally on Sunday, Tejashwi Yadav said, "If our government is formed, I will throw the Waqf Board Act bill into the dustbin."\
However, what Tejashwi described as a bill has now become an Act.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Syed Shahnawaz Hussain has responded to the RJD leader's statement.
Speaking to the media, he said, "He is unaware that the law passed by the central Parliament, which has also been approved by the Supreme Court, cannot be repealed by him."
The BJP leader added, "Such statements are being made to mislead the Muslim community."
Shahnawaz Hussain said that when the RJD announced its Deputy Chief Ministerial candidate, they did not name anyone from the Muslim community, which has angered that community.
He said, "To appease their (Muslim) anger, they are making statements like 'abolishing' the Waqf Amendment Act."
