Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: The elections in Bihar are about to be officially announced. Right now, the ruling NDA and the opposition group, Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance), haven't agreed on how to share the seats with their partners. However, it looks like the Mahagathbandhan, led by Tejashwi Yadav, has mostly worked out how many seats each party will get.

While the final details aren't settled yet, the parties in the Mahagathbandhan have a good idea of their seat numbers. The RJD, Congress, and VIP have told their candidates to start getting ready for the elections.

Tejashwi Yadav, who is the Leader of the Opposition, held a meeting with key leaders from all the alliance parties to discuss seat-sharing and other important topics. This meeting took place at his home and included leaders like Congress state president Rajesh Ram and VIP chief Mukesh Sahni. Mukesh Sahni said that this meeting is very important for deciding when they will announce the seat-sharing plan.

Who is getting ready for how many seats?

Sources said that the parties have started their preparations ahead of the meeting. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has told about 60 potential candidates to start getting ready for the elections. 

The Congress has also asked most of its current MLAs to be prepared, with only a few seats likely to change. The Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) has directed 18 candidates to prepare for the elections. The Left parties have given approval for all their current MLAs to run again. An important part of the meeting will be to discuss new candidate names.

It seems that several new candidates might be approved during this meeting. Before making final decisions, leaders from the RJD, Congress, VIP, and Left parties will meet with potential candidates to see who has the best chance of winning. This will help ensure that the alliance chooses strong candidates.

What else will happen in the meeting?

Tejashwi Yadav's meeting is seen as very important for the Grand Alliance's election strategy. They will talk about seat-sharing, key campaign issues, plans for joint rallies, and how to work better together. After this meeting, the Grand Alliance's election plans are expected to become clearer.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
