Bihar Assembly elections-2025: NDA holds 59 seats in first phase and 66 in second phase, what are Grand Alliance's strong areas
The dates for the Bihar Assembly elections-2025 have been announced. Voting will happen in two phases on November 6th and November 11th. This is the first time in 40 years that elections will take place in two phases in Bihar. Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar shared that there will be voting for 121 seats in the first phase and 122 seats in the second phase. The results will be announced on November 14th.
There is a month between when the election model code of conduct comes into force and the first voting day. In past elections, areas like Magadh and Shahabad voted first, meaning many seats in South Bihar were included in the first phase. This time, the first phase will include seats from the Tirhut, Mithila, and Kosi regions in North Bihar.
NDA holds 39 out of 70 seats in Tirhut and Mithila regions
In the first phase, voting will take place in places like Darbhanga, Gopalganj, Munger, Khagaria, Madhepura, Saharsa, and Nalanda. The NDA party is strong in these areas. For example, they have 9 out of 10 seats in Darbhanga and 6 out of 7 in Nalanda. Out of the 121 seats in the first phase, 70 are in the Tirhut and Mithila regions, where the NDA holds 39 seats.
Second Phase Voting Areas
The second phase will cover most districts in Magadh, Anga Pradesh, and Shahabad. However, some areas like Munger, Buxar, Saharsa, Nalanda, and Sheikhpura will vote in the first phase. The NDA is also strong in these regions.
NDA has 59 seats in the first phase and 66 in the second phase
In Tirhut, the NDA has a good position, holding 36 out of 64 assembly seats. In Mithila, they hold 30 out of 46 seats. Based on the 2020 elections, the NDA has 59 seats in the first phase and 66 in the second phase, while the Grand Alliance has 61 and 49 seats, respectively.
Grand Alliance's strong areas
The Grand Alliance's strong areas are split into two parts for voting. The second phase will include places like Arwal, Aurangabad, and Gaya, while the first phase will cover areas like Buxar, Bhojpur, Nalanda, and Patna. Similar arrangements are made in Saran and Tirhut as well.
