Good news for Instagram users: You can now watch your favorite Reels again, here’s how it works

Instagram often has interesting videos, but sometimes a call or notification interrupts you, making it hard to finish watching. To help with this, Instagram has added a new feature that lets you rewatch Reels you've seen before. This was announced on Friday.

How does the new Watch History feature work?

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri explained, "Have you ever tried to find a Reel you've already watched but couldn't find it? Now, there’s a feature to help you. Just go to your profile, tap 'Your Activity' in Settings, and you'll see 'Watch History.' This shows all the Reels you've watched before."

Search by date and time

This new feature is very useful. You can not only revisit the Reels you've watched, but also search for them by date, week, month, or a specific day. If you want to remove a Reel from your history, you can do that too. Many users have been asking for this feature, and Instagram has finally made it happen.

Inspired by TikTok, but better

This feature is similar to one on TikTok, but it offers more options. Recently, Instagram has added several features similar to TikTok, like linking multiple Reels at once and a picture-in-picture mode. This means Instagram Reels is now a strong competitor to TikTok.

Better User Experience

With this new update, using Instagram has become even better. You won’t have to worry about losing your favorite Reels anymore—just open ‘Watch History’ and enjoy them whenever you want!
