In Bihar Assembly elections, a wave of promises are being made by the opposition and the ruling alliance to woo the voters. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav said on Sunday that if the India Alliance forms the government in Bihar, the allowances of public representatives in the Panchayati Raj system will be doubled.
During the press conference, Tejashwi also announced that they (public representatives) will be provided with an insurance cover of Rs 50 lakh and a pension.
Tejashwi said, "The people of Bihar have given them (NDA) an opportunity to rule for 20 years, we only want 20 months from the public."
The Panchayati Raj system has three levels of governance: the Zila Parishad, the Panchayat Samiti, and the Gram Panchayat.
The heads of these are called 'Adhyaksha' (Zila Parishad), 'Pramukh' (Panchayat Samiti), and 'Mukhiya' (Gram Panchayat).

He emphasized that the NDA has a roadmap for Bihar’s development, focusing on the growth of agriculture-based industries. Mr. Shah asserted that the people of Bihar will not fall for the false promises of the RJD and the Congress.
