Congress leader Rahul Gandhi slammed the government over the suicide of a female doctor in Satara, Maharashtra. He said that Dr. Sampada Munde, a talented doctor, became a victim of corruption and crime within the system.
In a social media post, Gandhi called Dr. Munde's suicide a tragedy that should disturb any decent society. He said that Dr. Munde wanted to help others but suffered from the abuse of corrupt persons and criminals in power.
He accused those responsible for protecting the public of committing terrible acts against Dr. Munde, including rape and exploitation. Reports suggest that some powerful people linked to the BJP pressured her to confess to wrongdoing.
Rahul Gandhi described this situation as a shocking example of how power can protect criminals. He asserted that Dr. Munde's death should not be seen as suicide but as a result of a system that failed her.
He questioned where justice can be found when those in power shield wrongdoers. Dr. Sampada's death reveals the cruel nature of the current BJP government. He expressed strong support for the victim's family in their pursuit of justice. Rahul said he wants safety and justice for all women in India.
Dr. Munde, who worked at a sub-hospital in Phaltan, wrote the names of a police sub-inspector and another person on her hand before taking her life, which has sparked much discussion around the case.
