IND vs AUS ODI: Indian cricket legend Rohit Sharma posted a post on social media before leaving Sydney, Australia for India. His post is going viral.
Sharing a photo of himself on X, Rohit Sharma wrote, "Leaving Sydney for one last time."
After retiring from Test cricket, there is speculation that this Australia tour will be Rohit Sharma's last. It is believed that he will hardly be able to play in Australia again.
In a conversation with Adam Gilchrist and Ravi Shastri after the final ODI, Rohit Sharma said that he did not know whether he would return to Australia to play cricket again.
Rohit Sharma has always loved playing in Australia. After a tough ODI series against their old rivals, he admitted on Saturday that he and Virat Kohli might not get another chance to play there again.
Both Rohit and Kohli now focus on just one format of the game after retiring from Tests and T20Is, and there has been a lot of talk about their future in cricket.
On Saturday, the two great players teamed up again to help India avoid a series loss. They scored an unbeaten 168 runs together, leading India to a nine-wicket win in the third ODI.
We love playing cricket no matter what: Rohit
"I always enjoy coming here to play. I have great memories from 2008. I'm not sure if we will return to Australia, but we love playing cricket no matter what," Rohit said after being named Player of the Match and Player of the Series.
Rohit scored a fantastic 121 runs, while Kohli contributed 74 runs in the victory.
"We started fresh in Perth - that's how I see it," he said, recognizing the difficulties of playing in Australia.
Rohit also talked about the importance of experience and helping younger players at this stage of their careers.
"You expect tough pitches and good bowlers in Australia. It's never easy to play here. We didn't win the series, but there are many positives. Our team is young, and they will learn a lot.
"When I joined the team, the senior players helped us a lot; now it's our turn to do the same. We need to guide the younger players, create game plans, and stick to the basics, which I always do when I play here," he added.
The Indian cricket team is touring Australia for a three-match ODI and five-match T20 series.
Australia defeated India 2-1 in the ODI series. Rohit Sharma performed brilliantly in this series and was named Player of the Tournament.
Rohit Sharma scored 202 runs in three matches, including a century and a half-century. His average in these three matches was 101.
The five-match T20 series between India and Australia will begin on October 29.
