Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Bhai Dooj represents the soul of Indian culture. This festival is a symbol of the sacred affection and deep bond between brothers and sisters. He said that Bhai Dooj is not only a celebration of sibling love but also a reflection of social unity, women’s dignity, and preservation of family values.
The Chief Minister was addressing sisters during a special Bhai Dooj (Bhatru Dwitiya / Yama Dwitiya) celebration organized at the Chief Minister’s Residence on Thursday.
On this occasion, Dr. Mohan Yadav showered flower petals on the sisters and extended Bhai Dooj greetings. Women from across the state applied tilak on his forehead, tied safas, and offered coconuts as a token of respect. The Chief Minister gifted sweets and presents to the sisters.
The event witnessed traditional Nimari folk songs and dances, celebrating the affection and warmth of sibling bonds. The Ladli Behnas blessed the Chief Minister, wishing him long life, good health, and prosperity for the state.
CM draws inspiration from Lord Krishna and Subhadra
The Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav highlighted the divine relationship between Lord Krishna and his sister Subhadra, stating that Bhai Dooj draws its inspiration from such stories that symbolize eternal love and protection. He announced new incentives under the government’s employment-oriented policy women working in industries will receive an additional Rs 5,000, and those starting their own ventures will get a 2% interest rebate. Women registering property, houses, or shops in their names will also receive concessions. “Our sisters should establish their own enterprises and become prosperous,” he urged.
