Women's World Cup-2025: India defeats Australia, advance to the final, record partnership between Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur
India defeated Australia in the second semi-final of the Women's World Cup-2025 to advance to the final.
The Indian team achieved the target of 339 runs set by Australia in 48.3 overs, losing five wickets. Jemimah's unbeaten 127 was the hero of India's victory. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 89 runs.
Earlier, Australia was all out for 338 runs in 49.5 overs. Phoebe Litchfield's 119 runs came from 93 balls for Australia.
Litchfield's innings included three sixes and 17 fours. Meanwhile, Sri Charani and Deepti Sharma took two wickets each for India.
South Africa has already secured a place in the final after defeating England in the first semi-final played on Wednesday.

Chasing a target of 339, India got off to a disastrous start. Shafali Verma was dismissed for 10 in the second over.
Smriti Mandhana then tried to stabilize India's innings with Jemimah. However, Smriti also departed for 24 on the second ball of the 10th over.
Jemimah then took charge alongside captain Harmanpreet Kaur. The two not only completed their half-centuries but also kept the run rate steady.
Jemimah completed her half-century in 56 balls, while Harmanpreet Kaur completed her fifty in 65 balls.
Record partnership
The two shared a record partnership of 167 runs for the third wicket. However, captain Harmanpreet Kaur failed to reach her century and returned to the pavilion after scoring 89.\
But Jemimah held on until the end and returned to the pavilion only after leading the team to victory. Jemimah played an unbeaten inning of 127 runs in 134 balls. Jemimah's innings included 14 fours.
Deepti Sharma scored 24, Richa Ghosh scored 26, and Amanjot Kaur made this victory possible with an unbeaten inning of 15 runs.
This is the third time the Indian women's team has reached the final. Previously, the Indian team reached the ODI World Cup final in 2005 and 2017.
However, both previous times the Indian women's team has faced disappointment in the ODI World Cup final.
