Bihar: Exit polls predict comfortable majority for NDA, how many seats Grand Alliance will win

🎧 Listen:

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal United (JD (U)), along with their smaller partners, are expected to win comfortably in the Bihar election, with predictions of winning between 133 and 167 seats.

On the other hand, the opposition alliance led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), which includes the Congress party, is likely to face a major loss. They are expected to win only between 70 and 102 seats, which is much lower than the 75 seats the RJD won by itself five years ago.

Additionally, the Jan Suraaj Party, led by former strategist Prashant Kishor and seen as a possible game-changer, is not expected to do well in its first election, with predictions of winning no more than five seats. The majority mark is 122.

Mahagathbandhan will fail to even come close to halfway mark

Four exit polls - Dainik Bhaskar, Matrize, People's Insight and Peoples Pulse - have predicted that opposition Mahagathbandhan would fail to even come close to the halfway mark in Bihar.

Dainik Bhaskar has predicted around 73-91 seats for Mahagathbandhan, Matrize has given it 70-90 seats. Per People's Insight, it will get around 87-102 seats while Peoples Pulse has predicted 75-101 seats.

It's important to note that exit poll results can be unpredictable and may not match the final vote counts.

The second and final phase of voting, covering 122 of the 243 seats, just finished. The first phase took place on November 6, and the votes will be counted on November 14.
