Delhi Red Fort Metro Station Blast: Nine feared killed in explosion in car, many injured; high alert in Delhi, Mumbai, UP

An explosion occurred in a car parked in the parking lot near Gate No. 1 of Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station at 6:55 pm on Monday evening. The fire spread so rapidly that 8-10 other vehicles parked nearby were also burned.

Nine people were killed in the blast and 24 were injured. The cause of the blast is not yet clear. Many of the injured were taken to LNJP Hospital.

Police have cordoned off the entire area, and forensic teams are present at the scene. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being examined. A high alert has been issued in Delhi, Mumbai, and Uttar Pradesh.

A local resident said, "We saw flames... I looked from my rooftop. Then I came down to see what was happening. There was a very loud noise. The window of the building shook."

A local shopkeeper said, "I was sitting in my shop when the explosion occurred. Suddenly, there was a loud explosion like I had never heard before. I fell three times after hearing the blast. After this, everyone nearby started running."

The Delhi Fire Department said, "There was a report of a car explosion near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station. Firefighters reached the spot and brought the fire under control. Eight to ten vehicles were damaged in the incident.
