India's first ROB passing over 7 railway tracks coming up in Bhopal's Nishatpura; 9 lakh citizens will benefit; Minister Sarang inspects site
Bhopal: Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang on Saturday inspected the construction site of the Nishatpura Coach Factory ROB (Railway Overbridge).
Sarang said that this ROB will be the first railway overbridge in the country to pass over seven railway tracks simultaneously.
This ROB will start from the Platform-1 area of Bhopal Railway Station and extend to the Khedapati Hanuman Temple in Chhola.
Minister Sarang said that this much-awaited railway overbridge will be completed and dedicated to the public by November 2026. The construction of this ROB will strengthen connectivity between Chhola and Karond areas, connecting new and old Bhopal, and will directly benefit about 9 lakh citizens.
City traffic will be streamlined
Sarang said that after the construction of the ROB, it will be easier for citizens coming from Karond, Berasia, Bairagarh, and Vidisha to reach Bhopal Railway Station. This ROB will also prove extremely useful for people traveling from the old city to the BHEL area.
Sarang said that commuting will be easier from several major areas of the city, including Arera Colony and Shahpura. In the future, this ROB will also serve as an important link for travel to and from Bhopal Airport.
Minister Sarang said that the state government has transferred the funds to the railways for the construction of the ROB. The construction will be carried out by the railways. He said that this project is a significant step towards the overall urban development and traffic improvement of Bhopal. It will not only save time but also reduce traffic congestion and give a new impetus to the city's economic and social activities.
