Betul: A wave of devotees has surged in the Betul district and surrounding areas on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri-2026. Nearly two lakh devotees arrived at Shiv Dham Salbardi, a famous pilgrimage site located on the Madhya Pradesh-Maharashtra border, on Sunday. The temple complex has been resonating with chants of "Har Har Mahadev" since Sunday morning, with long queues waiting for darshan.

A large number of devotees are arriving in Salbardi from the district headquarters, Betul, Multai, and surrounding rural areas, as well as from remote areas of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. According to the administration, the number of devoteesexceed two lakh by evening.

The temple complex has been barricaded and separate routes have been designated. Special arrangements have been made for traffic, drinking water, medical care, and ambulances.

Special pujas, grand Maha Aarti organized

On Mahashivratri, major Shiva temples in the Multai region, including Salbardi, are organizing Jalabhishek, Rudrabhishek, and special pujas. A grand Maha Aarti was held in the evening at Shiv Dham Salbardi, which was attended by thousands of devotees.

For the convenience of devotees, various social organizations have organized food distribution centers at various locations, providing food and drinking water. The large crowds that gathered on Mahashivratri have once again highlighted the religious significance of Shiv Dham Salbardi.
