ICC T20 World Cup-2026: India defeats England by 7 runs, to meet New Zealand in final
Team India has entered the final of the ICC T20 World Cup-2026 for the fourth time. The team defeated England by 7 runs in the second semi-final match on Thursday. The team has also reached the final in 2007, 2014, and 2024.
England won the toss and chose to bowl at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Team India scored 253 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Chasing 254 runs, England could only score 246 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs.
The final match between India and New Zealand will be played on March 8th at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Jasprit Bumrah took one wicket for 33 runs in four overs. Hardik Pandya took two wickets for 38 runs in four overs. Both of their bowling played a crucial role in India's passage to the final.
Jacob Bethel's 105 runs off 48 balls kept England in the match until the final over. However, his innings failed to secure victory for the team.
