MP: Work to begin soon for Gita Bhavan in Ujjain, Governor Mangubhai Patel and CM Mohan Yadav performs Bhoomi Poojan
MP: Governor Mangubhai Patel and CM Dr. Mohan Yadav performed the Bhoomi Pujan on Tuesday in Ujjain for development works worth over Rs 662 crore. These include urban development projects being implemented by the Ujjain Development Authority, works related to Simhastha-2028, and the construction of a Gita Bhavan.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri, Gudi Padwa and the Hindu New Year, Ujjain has received major development projects worth Rs 662.46 crore. The foundation stone for Gita Bhavan was laid at a cost of Rs 77.14 crore.
Bhoomi Poojan was also performed for the Vikram Nagar Railway Over Bridge costing Rs 30.68 crore and 11 road construction projects. He highlighted that 2026 is being observed as the Year of Farmers’ Welfare, with significant efforts to increase farmers’ income and boost milk production through animal husbandry. Milk production has increased by 25 per cent in the past year and a quarter, benefiting farmers with higher returns.
A proclamation of Ujjain’s glorious future
Governor Patel stated that the Bhoomi Poojan of projects worth Rs 662.46 crore is not merely about infrastructure development, but a proclamation of Ujjain’s glorious future, cultural resurgence and progress. He said it reflects the realisation of PM Narendra Modi’s vision of a strong, prosperous and empowered developed India under the motto ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. He congratulated the State Government for the decision to construct a ‘Gita Bhavan’ at Triveni Vihar, on the lines of Indore and Jabalpur.
The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and Kanya Poojan by the Governor and the Chief Minister. Dignitaries also visited an exhibition showcasing development works related to Simhastha-2028.
Foundation of a new “golden era” for Ujjain
Governor said that these projects, blessed by Baba Mahakal, will not merely be concrete structures but the foundation of a new “golden era” for Ujjain, symbolising well-planned development on a global scale. He stated that these projects and improved urban facilities will boost religious tourism, trade, employment and the economy. He said that since the development of Mahakal Mahalok, there has been an unprecedented rise in the number of devotees visiting Ujjain.
Simhastha-2028 Will Be a Global Confluence of Sanatan Culture: CM
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that Simhastha-2028 will be a global confluence of Sanatan culture. He said it is the responsibility of the government to ensure dignified and convenient arrangements for every devotee visiting, and every visitor will be treated as a guest.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the grandeur of Simhastha-2028 will be unparalleled, truly embodying the spirit of ‘Bhuto Na Bhavishyati’. He stated that the State Government’s efforts are being strongly supported by the Government of India. Recently, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the Union Cabinet approved the four-laning of the Badnawar–Petlawad–Thandla stretch of NH-752 D. This will directly connect Ujjain to the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway and emerge as a new axis of development.
