New York: India's most renowned food products—ranging from globally acclaimed Basmati rice to premium mangoes and aromatic spices—are capturing global attention at the 'Summer Fancy Food Show- 2026,' North America's largest specialty food exhibition.
More than 70 Indian exhibitors are participating in the 'India Pavilion'—jointly organized by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO)—marking the country's largest-ever participation in this prestigious event.
Indian Mango Showcase
A major highlight is the 'Indian Mango Showcase,' where visitors can taste six premium export varieties of mangoes and innovative mango-based delicacies. As the world's largest producer of mangoes, India is leveraging this platform to demonstrate the diversity, flavor, and export potential of its signature fruit.
Basmati Culinary Showcase
Equally popular is the 'Basmati Culinary Showcase,' where internationally acclaimed dishes prepared with premium Indian Basmati rice demonstrate why this grain is cherished in kitchens worldwide. Live tasting sessions curated by Michelin-starred Chef Hemant Mathur highlight the distinctive aroma, texture, and versatility that have made Indian Basmati a favorite in the international market.
Wide array of Indian products
The pavilion also features a wide array of Indian products—including spices, ready-to-eat meals, organic foods, frozen products, beverages, snacks, and value-added agricultural goods—reflecting the growing global demand for authentic Indian flavors.
Inaugurating the pavilion, Binaya Srikanta Pradhan, India’s Consul General in New York, and internationally acclaimed chef Vikas Khanna described the event as a significant milestone for India's food exports. They noted that every product showcased reflects the hard work of millions of Indian farmers, food processors, and exporters, while also reinforcing India's growing reputation as a reliable supplier of premium food products.
With the rapidly rising demand for authentic Indian cuisine in North America, the industry estimates that the region could offer a market opportunity worth US$ 30–50 billion over the next decade. Officials believe that India's record participation in the exhibition will further strengthen the country's presence in one of the world's most competitive food markets and open up new opportunities for Indian exporters and farmers.
