CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Samakota Barrage would provide fresh momentum to water conservation efforts in Ujjain district. It will help improve groundwater levels, ensuring adequate water for irrigation and providing a significant boost to agricultural productivity. He said that this effort to conserve every drop of water would serve as a strong safeguard for the future of Ujjain and the upcoming Simhastha.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Mahidpur is famous for its traditional Mawa-Bati sweet and the renowned Mahidpur Gulati. He remarked that visiting Mahidpur is always a special experience. He also noted that Mahidpur is associated with the legendary friendship of Lord Shri Krishna and Sudama.

Referring to Dongla’s contribution to timekeeping and astronomy, the Chief Minister said that Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh had established observatories (Jantar Mantar) in Ujjain, Banaras, Jaipur, Mathura, and Delhi nearly 300 years ago. Carrying forward the legacy of Samrat Vikramaditya and Aryabhata, the State Government has established a modern observatory at Dongla. Efforts are underway to establish Dongla as a global reference point for determining standard time.
