What Shreyas Iyer said after appointment as captain of Indian T20 cricket team
Batter Shreyas Iyer has been appointed captain of the Indian T20 cricket team.
Speaking at an event on Sunday after his appointment, he remarked that shouldering the responsibility of captaincy is a major challenge.
He said, "I don't need to change my personality because of this responsibility; I need to remain exactly as I am."
Shreyas Iyer added, "To be honest, I enjoy challenges—especially having grown up in Mumbai, where cricket is huge and the competition is fierce. Every child wants to play cricket for Mumbai. I have faced many challenges while growing up, and I have always maintained a winning mindset."

Hardik Pandya will remain unavailable for all these tournaments. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia stated, "Hardik Pandya is at the COE (Centre of Excellence) in Bengaluru. He is undergoing a rehabilitation program."
"He will soon undergo final tests and go through the clearance process. Rohit will also visit the COE in the next two to three days. We are awaiting his final fitness clearance."
