Bhopal: Modern facilities and a boost to research for Pt. Khushilal Sharma Ayurveda College and Institute
Bhopal: Divisional Commissioner Karmveer Sharma has directed officials to prepare a detailed proposal for constructing roads and bridges to improve connectivity between the hospital, medical college, girls' hostel, auditorium, and herbal garden within the Pt. Khushilal Sharma Ayurveda College and Institute campus.
Presiding over an executive committee meeting on Monday, Sharma also approved opening the college's herbal garden to school students to raise awareness about Ayurvedic medicinal plants. Schools will be able to organize educational visits to the garden for a nominal fee of Rs 10 per student.
The committee approved the timely repair of the hospital and postgraduate buildings, the modernization of laboratories and operational systems, and the procurement of medicines for the super-specialty wing. Faculty members were also granted permission to organize workshops in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and other professional organizations.
To strengthen healthcare services, Sharma approved the procurement of modern equipment—including digital X-ray machines, firefighting systems, and CCTV cameras—for the diagnostic laboratory through the Health Corporation and the college purchase store, in accordance with regulations.
Emphasizing research and innovation, the Divisional Commissioner sought details regarding patents filed by postgraduate students and instructed officials to provide all necessary support to foster research and intellectual property development. Senior AYUSH officials, college administrators, and members of the executive committee attended the meeting.
