Nishatpura Railway Station to give new momentum to Bhopal's development: Minister Sarang; CM Mohan Yadav to inaugurate; major trains on Indore route to operate
Cooperatives Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang visited the newly developed Nishatpura Railway Station on Monday to review preparations for its inauguration ceremony. Accompanied by railway and administrative officials, he inspected the station premises, passenger amenities, and security arrangements, issuing instructions to complete all preparations in a timely and organized manner.
Key trains bound for Indore will operate from Nishatpura Railway Station; notably, the Malwa Express and the Somnath–Jabalpur Express will now halt at this station.
In addition to the Malwa Express, the Somnath-Jabalpur Express will also have a scheduled stop here. Minister Vishvas Sarang visited the site on Monday to review the preparations.
Trains bound for Indore will originate from Nishatpura; following this, the station will become fully operational. Currently, the city is served by the Bhopal, Rani Kamlapati, and Sant Hirdaram (Bairagarh) railway stations.
According to the Bhopal Railway Division, the Malwa Express and the Somnath-Jabalpur Express will make scheduled stops at Nishatpura Railway Station as well during the initial phase. Providing relief to passengers in Bhopal, the West Central Railway has made partial modifications to its previously issued order.
Trains will stop at both Nishatpura and Bhopal main station
The Railways has clarified that, for the time being, both the Malwa Express and the Somnath-Jabalpur Express will stop at both Bhopal Junction and Nishatpura stations. An earlier notification issued by the Railways had stated that these trains would bypass Bhopal station and stop only at Nishatpura station, a move that had caused confusion among passengers.
Minister Sarang noted that Nishatpura station is located within the Narela Assembly constituency. The area already has several flyovers, and another one is currently under construction. This new flyover will start from the Dwarka Nagar side of Bhopal Station's Platform No. 1 and land at the Nishatpura railway station. It will be the country's first Road Over Bridge (ROB) to span across approximately six railway tracks.
Minister Sarang remarked that the operationalization of Nishatpura Railway Station is not merely the launch of a new station but represents a new identity for the rapidly growing city of Bhopal and a crucial piece of infrastructure designed to meet future needs.
The new station will prove to be a historic gift for the lakhs of citizens of Bhopal. He announced that Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav would inaugurate the Nishatpura Railway Station on July 28 at 5:00 PM, after which regular passenger train services would commence from the station.
