Datia: Lakhs of devotees are expected to visit the famous Ratangarh Mata Temple in MP's Datia during the Shardiya Navratri festival, scheduled from October 10 to October 20. In view of this, the Datia district administration has initiated extensive preparations to ensure a safe, smooth, and spiritually fulfilling experience for pilgrims.
A high-level review meeting, chaired by Collector and District Magistrate Swapnil Wankhede, was held to assess arrangements for the Navratri celebrations and the Diwali-Dauj 'Lakkhi Mela' (grand fair) scheduled for November 9–11.
Describing the Ratangarh Mata Temple as one of Madhya Pradesh's prominent Shaktipeeths, the Collector stated that the administration's top priority is to facilitate hassle-free darshan (worship) for devotees, maintain cleanliness, and ensure the uninterrupted availability of essential amenities.
A comprehensive review of ongoing works was conducted, covering the repair of approach roads, construction of pilgrim shelters, parking areas, sanitation facilities, drinking water tanks, welcome gates, lighting systems, and a shaded corridor connecting the two temples.
Officials also reviewed preparations regarding CCTV surveillance, traffic management, health camps, ambulances, fire services, disaster relief teams, and crowd control measures.
The Collector directed all departments to complete construction and infrastructure work by September 30, ensuring that all routes are clear well before the festival begins. Officials have also been instructed to conduct regular inspections and closely monitor work progress so that devotees arriving from across the country can participate in the grand Navratri celebrations without any inconvenience.
