Sehore: Salkanpur Navratri pilgrims to get safer, smoother darshan experience: what facilities will be available for devotees?
Sehore: Devotees visiting the Vijyasan Devi Temple in Salkanpur, Sehore, during the upcoming Shardiya Navratri will experience a more organized, safe, and comfortable pilgrimage, thanks to several arrangements announced by the district administration. These measures aim to reduce waiting times, enhance security, and ensure a hassle-free darshan for the thousands of pilgrims expected during the festival.
To ensure better arrangements for pilgrims, Bhopal Divisional Commissioner Karmveer Sharma, DIG (Bhopal Rural) Rajesh Chandel, Collector Balaguru K., and SP Sonakshi Saxena held a meeting in Salkanpur and issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials.
Visitors will benefit from improved facilities within the temple complex, including better parking, clean drinking water, enhanced sanitation, temporary toilets, and uninterrupted electricity. Help desks and a dedicated control room will provide information and emergency assistance to devotees, while health camps and ambulances will offer immediate medical aid when needed.
Additional police staff to be deployed at key locations
To manage heavy crowds, officials will deploy additional police and administrative staff at key locations to ensure smooth traffic flow; additionally, the ropeway to the hilltop temple will operate continuously. Taxi services will be strictly monitored to ensure that only vehicles in good condition with valid fitness certificates operate, and to prevent issues like overcrowding or overcharging.
For the safety of pilgrims, access to nearby forest areas and accident-prone zones will be restricted. At the nearby Narmada Awali Ghat, officials will deploy police personnel, Home Guards, divers, and rescue boats, and install clear signboards to facilitate safe bathing and smooth crowd movement, especially during the Amavasya (new moon) rush.
