MP: Officials in Balaghat Visit 15 Formerly Naxal-Affected Villages; What Development Plans Will Focus On?
Balaghat: The Balaghat district administration has intensified its efforts to accelerate development work in 100 villages previously affected by Naxalism. Officials from various departments visited 15 villages across the Baihar, Birsa, Lanji, and Kirnapur blocks to assess local needs and formulate development plans.
Under the guidance of Collector Aditya Singh, the officials engaged directly with villagers to understand their challenges, essential requirements, and expectations.
The villages visited include Bargud-Satona, Keradih, Sair, and Sanduka in Lanji; Chhindikuwa, Borwan, Sakritola, and Siriyatola in Kirnapur; Adori, Kundekasa, and Bondari in Birsa; and Latri, Bamni, and Sarad in Baihar.
Based on the feedback received from the residents, proposals are being drafted to improve basic amenities and infrastructure. Officials are also working to ensure that eligible residents receive the benefits of government welfare schemes.
Special emphasis is being placed on creating employment and livelihood opportunities through initiatives in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, fisheries, and self-employment schemes.
The objective of this initiative is to connect rural residents—particularly the youth—with income-generating activities, strengthen the local economy, and accelerate the pace of development in these areas that were once affected by Naxalism.
