To write this, Ganeshji placed a condition that his writing should not stop in the middle. And then Shri Ganesh wrote the Mahabharata.
Accordingly Mata Parvati fasted called Punyak for the attainment of a son. Due to this fast, Goddess Parvati received Shri Ganesh as her son.
