Vinay Sharma, one of the country's most infamous Nirbhaya gang rape and murder accused, has tried to commit suicide on Wednesday, but jail officials managed to save him. It is being reported that on Wednesday, Vinay tried to hang himself in Tihar Jail. But the policemen in jail saved him. Vinay Sharma attempted suicide has been confirmed by his lawyer. Meanwhile the Tihar jail administration is denying the incident.
According to sources, it is being reported that Vinay Sharma has been kept in a room in jail number 4 of Tihar Jail. There is a toilet in this room, which is covered by a curtain. Sources say that around 9 am on Wednesday morning, Vinay tried to hang himself by hook he prepared himself. But was unsuccessful. At the same time, the policemen caught Vinay and saved him. However, since the death warrant of the convicts has been issued, they are being monitored with CCTV cameras for 24 hours.
Meanwhile Mukesh's mercy petition was sent to the President by the Home Ministry. According to the latest news, the President has rejected Mukesh's mercy petition.
