Part Of Kashi Vishwanath Temple Turned Into Debris

A part of the residence of Mahant Vice Chancellor Tiwari of the famous temple of Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh has collapsed.  In the incident, the ancient silver throne of Baba Vishwanath has been damaged and is buried under debris.  This is the same throne in which Rangbhari Ekadashi is taken to the court of Vishwanath.  

Although the Panchabadan silver statue survived from being damaged during this period, the family members of Mahant Vice Chancellor Tiwari narrowly survived the accident.  Debris is being removed from the spot and necessary items related to the temple are being removed.

According to reports the cash and jewellery along with the entire belongings of Mahant Vice Chancellor Tiwari's house have been buried in the rubble.  The Mahant says that there has been a loss of about 60 lakhs in the accident.  

At present, Mahant's family has been shifted to the guest house.  Former Mahant Vice Chancellor Tiwari has warned that if his house is not repaired as soon as possible, he will take water samadhi.
