Mahashivratri Do's And Don't s

In Hinduism, Shiva is considered to be a destroyer and Shiva is also considered the creator of the universe, so for Shiva to not be angry, we need to take care of many things.

Because of Shivji's anger, your life may enter into troubles and if Shivji is happy then your fate can also be revealed.

On Mahashivaratri, those who worship Lord Shiva get salvation and the troubles which come in life are eliminated.  But special things have to be kept in mind in the worship of Shiva, so that your worship is successful and no misfortune will come.

Take special care of these things

It is necessary to bathe before worshiping on Mahashivratri.  Add black sesame to the bathing water and also add a few drops of Ganga water.

If possible, take a bath in a holy river on the day of Shivaratri.  If you are offering Shiva in the temple or house, then anoint it with milk.

Add honey to milk, if you are not doing milk, then anoint it with water, but do not mix milk or other liquid in water, whenever you offer water to Shiva, use a copper vessel, but when you are anointing silver  Or use an earthen pot.

If you can offer belap, dhatura, sandalwood, turmeric and flowers while worshiping Shivji, then offer white flowers to Shivji, because Shivji likes safel flowers.

If women want to anoint Shiva then use sandalwood.  Apply sandalwood paste on Shivling, keep fast on Mahashivaratri day and eat fasting food during the fast, but do not eat anything in the evening.

On the day of Mahashivaratri, bhajan-kirtan should be done in the temple, on the day of Shivaratri, offer kheer and milk made to Lord Shiva.

If you are worshiping Shiva, do not wear dark colored clothes, you should not use Tulsi leaves in Shiv Pooja, do not consume non-vegetarian food, alcohol etc. on Mahashivaratri.  Although cannabis can be consumed on Mahashivaratri.
