Opposition to Corner Government over CAA-NRC in budget session today

Amid the protests over CAA-NRC and the upcoming Delhi elections the budget session of Parliament started today. The opposition is ready to attack the government on the hot burning issues in the country like CAA,NRC and NPR.

Discussion will begin on the President's address during the budget session on Monday, but in the meantime the opposition is all set to corner the government and will not leave any issue untouched. Notices have been given by the Congress in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, under which the current conditions of the country will be discussed. The incident of firing  which took place in Jamia will also be discussed.It's been more than 50 days since the debates and protests over CAA and NRC are going on and the opposition will not miss any chance of cornering the government over the issue.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
