Supreme Court Intervenes In Shaheen Bagh Protest

Demonstrations have been held for the last several days about CAA and NRC at Shaheen Bagh in Delhi, the country's capital.  This demonstration is being done by Muslim women.

The protestors are taking the path of Shaheen Bagh and are not taking the name of the removal.  Mediation has been offered by the Supreme Court to end the Shaheen Bagh protest.  The court has appointed interlocutors, who will talk to the people of Shaheen Bagh.

Today, Sanjay Hegde and his partner will reach Shaheen Bagh and try to resolve the issue.  The court has included senior advocate Sanjay Hegde, Sadhana Ramachandran, former Chief Information Commissioner Wajahat Habibullah in the panel to resolve the Shaheen Bagh issue.  All these negotiators will meet the protestors and try to trace a way to reduce the tensions.

For the last two months, there has been a demonstration in the Shaheen Bagh about CAA and NRC.  People of Delhi and Noida are facing problems due to the protest.  During the hearing in the court, the court said that the protesters cannot close the public road.  Protesting is a fundamental right, but alternative places need to be found for protests.
