BJP, Opposition Parties Will Hold President Pick's Special Meetings!

While opposition parties are yet to nominate a presidential candidate, the BJP will hold a parliamentary session today to conclude the July 18 general election. With more than a week to go before the nominations are finalized, both parties are trying to enter the popular support candidates.
Earlier, the BJP decided to nominate a candidate for the presidency later this week. The ruling party itself owns 49% of the Electoral College and in order to elect a President, one needs to exceed 50%.

Party President JP Nadda and Union Minister Rajnath Singh have been entrusted with the responsibility of liaising with the NDA and UPA and other non-NDA allies, non-UPA allies to mobilize support to cross the mark. The two leaders have been reaching out to many groups. The BJP also formed a kind of 'mindless party' with many Union Ministers and top officials also making their own contacts, talking to potential candidates.

With the standard BJP style, everything is quiet and 'top secret'. The Prime Minister is also likely to attend a parliamentary board meeting. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.

After the meeting, there will be a 'crack team' discussion where the PM will be informed of the options and numbers to be discussed. There is also a good chance that the board of parliament will meet again.

Meanwhile, busy talks continue in the opposition camp.

Mamata Banerjee misses an opposition meeting later today and his nephew and Trinamool leader Abhishek Banerjee are likely to attend. Three candidates have so far rejected the bid for president of the opposition party. NCP leader Sharad Pawar, Jammu and Kashmir National Congress leader Farooq Abdullah, and MK Gandhi's grandson Gopal Krishna Gandhi have so far rejected the promises.

Leaders of 17 opposition parties will gather at Sharad Pawar's residence today to plan for the presidential election, ANI reported.

The deadline for submissions is 29 June and the election will be on July 18.

The BJP hoped to avoid competition by nominating a candidate.

There are a lot of names to consider but as of 2017, BJP may surprise as it is its usual way of working. Even in the political arena there is the idea that in this case the nation may be promoted to the position of President.

It will not, however, be uncertain until both sides officially declare it.
