"Nupur Sharma Will Be Made Great Leader In 6-7 Months": Asaduddin Owaisi

India's top official Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi has demanded the arrest of suspended BJP spokesman Nupur Sharma over allegations against the Prophet Muhammad and called for action against Indian law.

Mr Owaisi also said Nupur Sharma would be considered a senior leader and could be a rival in place of Delhi CM.

"Nupur Sharma should be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with Indian law. We wanted action according to the Constitution. I know Nupur Sharma will be made the top leader in the next six to seven months. It is also possible that Nupur Sharma will be elected in Delhi CM," Owaisi said.

He also said the BJP was protecting Nupur Sharma and asked the Telangana Prime Minister to arrest him and bring him to Telangana.

"The BJP is defending Nupur Sharma and we are asking the Prime Minister and he is not saying anything. AIMIM has lodged a complaint and the FIR is registered. I also wanted to ask the CP and CM of this province to send police to Delhi. "You must bring him (Nupur Sharma)," said Mr Owaisi.

"Addressing the government of Uttar Pradesh about the demolition campaign, he said," In Allahabad, the residence of Prayagraj Afreen Fatima was demolished, why was it demolished? Because his father planned a protest. or not. The court will do justice and the court will not punish his wife and children. "

Earlier, Maharashtra Congress leader Naseem Khan also demanded the immediate arrest of suspended BJP spokesman Nupur Sharma and expelled BJP leader Naveen Kumar Jindal.

Last month, Sharma allegedly made derogatory remarks about Prophet Muhammad during a televised debate on the Gyanvapi issue.

Protests have also erupted in various provinces including Punjab, Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh over controversial remarks about the Prophet Muhammad uttered by Sharma and Jindal.

The protests turned violent in Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Jharkhand. In Ranchi, two people were killed during a violent protest.

Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath has also given full freedom to police officers to take firm action against those involved in disturbing the peace of various cities across the country.

In Punjab, protesters demanded the arrest of Nupur Sharma and Naveen Kumar Jindal, and charges of stoning and bombing were confirmed after Friday prayers in Uttar Pradesh.

The BJP leader's speech drew a huge response in the Gulf states. India has said it has taken strong action against those who use sophisticated rhetoric against the minority.

Meanwhile, the Department of Home Affairs (MHA) has called on the provincial police chiefs and areas of the Union to be prepared and vigilant as they may be directed at them.
