Amul, Mother Dairy Milk Again Costlier By Rs 2 Per Liter: Price Hiked For Third Time This Year



New Delhi: Amul and Mother Dairy on Saturday increased the price of milk by Rs 2 per litre. Now instead of Rs 61, Rs 63 will have to be paid for a packet of one liter full cream Amul milk (Amul Gold). 

Earlier in August and March also, there was an increase of Rs 2 per liter. This is the third such raise in the milk prices made by Amul. The company earlier in August and March increased their milk product prices.

Price not increased in Gujarat: There has been no increase in the price of Amul milk in Gujarat. There milk will continue to be available at the old rate. The reason for this is being told the Gujarat Assembly elections. Election could happen by the end of this year.

The company did not give the reason for increasing the rate: The company has not yet given the reason for increasing the rate. However, earlier in August, when Amul raised the prices, it was attributed to the increase in operation cost and milk production cost. 

The company said that the price of animal feed has increased by about 20% compared to last year. In view of the increase in input cost and animal feed, the milk unions affiliated to Amul Federation have also increased the milk purchase price of farmers by 8-9% as compared to last year.
